EB-5 Business Plan Company Overview Section

As mentioned in our other blogs, an EB-5 business plan is a unique type of business plan because it should incorporate findings from an EB-5 case called Matter of Ho*, which later was implemented in the USCIS Policy Manual. In the case and Policy Manual, there are important sections to an EB-5 business plan such as the company overview section that makes a business plan “credible.”

The company overview is an important short section of your business plan. This section is designed to give outsiders, and in this situation USCIS officials, a quick and easy way to understand your business and objectives. A business plan covers concepts such as the nature of your business and the factors that will make your business successful and consequently, profitable. Imagine that the person reading your business plan document has never heard of you, and does not know anything about your business. You need to focus on the highlights, think of this part as the “who, what, when, where, and why” of your business.

The company overview section typically contains separate sections. Such sections may include the name of the company, when it was founded, and its history. It should include the objectives of the company. Goals can involve areas such as profitability, growth and customer service, with a range of objectives that can be used to meet those goals. It may also include the company’s products and/or services and its target market.

The company overview is just one section out of several important sections of an EB-5 business plan. There are other important sections to an EB-5 business plan such as the marketing plan, financial plan, and human resources plan. For more information about EB-5 business plan requirements contact our firm and read our EB-5 blogs.
